COLOURIST
Description
The Colourist should have a strong eye for colour, contrast, mood, and cinematic aesthetics, and will enhance the visual language of films, OTT series, commercials, music videos, and other content through professional colour grading. The candidate should understand a project's creative intent and deliver consistent, technically accurate, visually compelling results.
Responsibilities
- Perform colour correction and colour grading for feature films, OTT series, commercials, music videos, and promotional content.
- Interpret creative briefs, references, and director/cinematographer expectations.
- Establish the visual mood, tone, and colour palette of projects.
- Perform primary colour correction, including exposure, white balance, contrast, saturation, and colour balance.
- Perform secondary grading, including skin tones, selective corrections, and targeted colour adjustments.
- Maintain colour consistency across shots, scenes, locations, and sequences.
- Match shots captured under different lighting conditions and camera setups.
- Create cinematic looks while maintaining natural skin tones and creative intent.
- Collaborate with directors, DOPs, editors, VFX artists, and producers.
- Coordinate with VFX and finishing teams to ensure seamless integration of graded and VFX shots.
- Review and implement creative feedback and revisions.
- Ensure proper colour management and technical accuracy throughout the grading workflow.
- Prepare final graded outputs according to project delivery specifications.
- Maintain organised project files, grading sessions, versions, and references.
- Ability to work on fast-turnaround projects without compromising quality.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of professional experience as a Colourist.
- Experience in feature films, OTT series, or high-end commercial grading.
- Understanding of VFX plates, CG integration, and finishing workflows.
- Experience working with different camera formats and HDR/SDR deliveries.
- Ability to create custom looks based on project requirements.
- Experience working in a fast-paced post-production environment.
